A hybrid slip-on/boat shoe, you get the best of both worlds with the Vans Lacey. Although I haven’t yet tried them on, they look super-comfortable like most Vans. The easy-on and off is always a big attraction and I like that if I need more security, the wrap-around laces can be tightened up with a quick pull—for outrunning the fuzz or what have you. They’re based on a vintage Vans model and come in a few different colorways. I like the way the black-on-black has an understated appeal that subtly plays-up the offbeat detail.

Here comes yet another preview out of the Vans Vault collection - the Half Cab LX “Croc”. The pack consists of a white and a black Half Cab, both coming with an upper made of premium suede and croc skin. In these latest Vans Classics release for the 2008 fall season, Vans have adopted a clean and minimalistic aesthetic to go alongside some their most popular marquee models. These stylings pretty much keep in line with the Vans Classics line, allowing other Vans sub-collections to have a little more freedom in their designs. The solid color offerings are seen on the low top Era and the Half Cab with colors including Espresso black, Aurora red and Goldenrod yellow.

Vans is proud to welcome Grosso back onto the team and introduce the Jeff Grosso Legends pack, featuring artwork by Jim Phillips from the Santa Cruz archives. The collaboration between Grosso and Vans was a natural, as Jeff has ridden the shoes for decades. The pack consists of the Sk8 Hi and the Old Skool. Improvements include – “lace saver” eyerow construction, vintage pattern details, notched heel in Sk8 Hi, dura-cap toe and ollie areas, and full-length polyurethane foam footbeds.
